Copy Contest!

Contest Rules:

Eligibility: The Shadow's Color Copy Contest is intended for play in the United States only (excluding Puerto Rico). No purchase is necessary to enter. You must be 18 or over and reside in the continental U.S. or Wisconsin to enter and have a valid CUW e-mail address. This contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Members of The Shadow and The Beacon are not eligible to enter or win.

How to enter: Only one entry per contestant, per contest period. For purposes of this promotion, an "entrant" shall consist of a person, family or household with a valid e-mail address. Should it be discovered that multiple daily entries have been received such entries will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be void and a new winner selected. To enter the drawing, simply find a copy of The Shadow, 4th Edition, that is in error. A unique 5-digit number will be placed somewhere on each "messed up" copy. Send an e-mail to theshadowpaper@yahoo.com describing the error and also giving the 5-digit number for verification. Entries must be received by 5:00 PM (EST) on January 1st, 2003. 3 Winners will be selected by order of correct entry from among all eligible entries submitted during the contest period to the e-mail address above. Contest period is from December 1st, 2002, ending January 1st, 2003. All taxes are the obligation of the winner.

Prize: The Grand Prize is a free COLOR copy of The Shadow, 4th Edition, and an opportunity to have your picture in the next edition of The Shadow. Responsibilty for any submitted photo is soley on the winner. Approximate value of prize is $2. No substitution, transfer or cash equivalent for prizes.

Notification: Winners will be notified by e-mail within 5 days of contest deadline. If prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable or The Shadow cannot contact winners for any reason, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. Winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release within 5 days of notification or prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. The publicity release requires the winner(s) to submit a photograph with their name for promotion on the web, print, and e-mail.

Odds of winning: Approximately 100:1. Contest decisions are final.

Conditions: The members of The Shadow are not in any way liable for damage loss or injury resulting from awarding or use of any prize or any item related thereto. Winners assume all liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this contest. The Shadow reserve the right in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bugs or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsors corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the contest. The Shadow is not responsible for computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions, or other errors, failures or delays in computer transmission or network connections that are human or technical in nature. Internet entrants must have a valid CUW e-mail address. The Shadow is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Internet users or by error of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in the contest. By accepting a prize, winners grant The Shadow permission for the use of his/her name, likeness and biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

Winners list: For the names of the prize winners, send an e-mail to: theshadowpaper@yahoo.com. All requests must be received no later than 15 days after any drawing. For a copy of the official rules, print out these pages.

Taxes: All taxes are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the prize winner.
